Our Philosophy
Your family is the most important thing in the world, right? and you want portraits you can treasure and hold close to your heart for the rest of your life. I get it! I have a passion for capturing those special moments and memories that you will treasure forever. I love the big moments and those "in between moments" in my clients' lives. Some of the most memorable moments of my life have been caught on film. And, some of my most confident moments are saved forever in pictures. It's beyond amazing what a simple photograph can do: bring forth memories, evoke moments of sheer happiness, produce feelings of pride and confidence...the list goes on. My philosophy is quite simple: I want to be able to provide for others what photographs have provided for me-a sense that life is important, and memories are eternal.
Photography, at its best, is a powerful language which speaks to our emotions. It allows us to tell our story and show others our framing of the world around us. I shoot everyday because it reminds to connect with the world around me. It reminds me of how beautiful life is, and of how much control I have over the things in my life that I take notice of. When I am looking through the lens there's no place I'd rather be but right there with you-capturing and preserving memories. With a photo you can capture a moment, and have it forever. Life is filled with big moments. Births, graduations, weddings, these are all moments that should be documented for family history. I have experience capturing the love and range in children as they see the world differently, and often express a lot more love and emotion than adults. Being able to capture that is both a fantastic photographic challenge, and a profound learning experience. I have countless photographs of my children scattered among my house, on end tables, counters, shelves, and bed side tables. Photographs are the best souvenir, they are personal, beautiful and have a story behind them.
I believe we have all done it. Went through old boxes of photographs and flipped through old albums on a rainy day just to refresh our memories and send us back in time. We remember happy times, and sad times. It’s amazing the kind of emotions an old photograph can bring out in us, but that’s just what they do and why they are so important. Photographs capture moments in time, moments you can never get back. This is exactly why I capture photographs as it's a great pleasure to simply show an image and evoke an emotion in someone else, today or later down the road.
